ARTIST AS QUILTMAKER XIV runs through July 31

In my wild wool obsession and daily work drag, I totally forgot to post that I am one of the artists included in FAVA's "Artist as Quiltmaker XIV", running May 16 through July 31. FAVA, for the uninitiated, stands for Firelands Association for the Visual Arts, located in the New Union Center for the Arts in Oberlin, OH. So, if you are going to be in the area...drop by. I have 2 works in the exhibition (see the red one on the left above) and the one below is the "cover girl" on the postcard (a detail image is used...I was so excited when I received them because my work has never been the "cover girl" shot in a group show). I also won an award for innovation. Well...I admit to being innovative, at least. Check out this link for other award winners in the show. Great company to be in. And just a quick shot for you of my keeper yarns, spun by me...yumilicious. Part II of my obsession posting will come soon...I promise. Honestly, obsessed people (meaning me) really have difficulty keeping a schedule (especially for meticulous blog posting...unless that happens to be ones obsession).

And finally, I got those bundles sent off to the winners after weeks of not feeling like embroidering, I decided to take them with me to work and low and behold after a week...they were embroidered. I didn't get a picture of them because, well I just didn't. Maybe the winners, Leonie and Jeannie, will indulge us if they are able.
Now...I must ready myself and the studio assistant and a visiting assistant (my friend's dog is staying with us for a few days...the wool had to go in the closet because she, unlike my studio assistant, seems to like to eat the wool...hmmmm).
